Zero transit. That’s the trick. Days are stacked with things you’d struggle to explain to your boss. The Sandbank Party runs a full bar on a strip of white sand that only exists at low tide. Cloud 9 is a two-level floating bar with wood-fired pizza. There’s snorkelling with an underwater sound system, and a Locals vs Trippers sports rivalry that runs all week.

What happens at night?

Themed parties, five nights straight: toga night, UV paint party, foam party, with DJs flown in to soundtrack the lot. The framing on the island is sunset through the sunrise, and the schedule takes it literally. The final morning even ends with a sunrise sail on the 98ft yacht.

Where do you catch your breath?

The hammocks and the spa exist for exactly this reason. So do the three daily buffets. And one day each trip the whole island deliberately slows down for the giving-back day: a donation visit to a local school, a kava ceremony, a lovo feast and fire dancers. Guests rate it as highly as the parties, which tells you something about how good it is.
