The Solo Shared Room package is $2,199 NZD per person: a single bed in a premium air-conditioned room shared with other solo trippers. You get the identical package to every other room on the What’s Included list.

You secure it with a $50 deposit and pay the rest off weekly or monthly, from $47 a week. Your roommates are other solo travellers.

How do you meet people fast?

The mixing starts before the flight, with a pre-departure group chat. Day one on the island runs Speed Friending. Later in the week the Tiki Hunt sends the whole island searching, and the winner scores a free trip back next year.

Between those, the schedule does the work: the 98ft yacht party, the Sandbank Party on a strip of sand that only exists at low tide, toga night, foam night. The schedule keeps handing you new people to meet.

Is a hosted solo trip the safer way to do it?

Yes, and it’s the bit parents care about. The trip has been running since 2013 and the crew hosts everything from the airport meet-up to the flight home. The island staffs nurses, lifeguards and security. Free Starlink wifi means checking in with home takes seconds, and the whole trip is strictly 18+.
